Rank 2 is the Wooting 60HE: hot-swap sockets let you fit silent linear switches without soldering, and the hall-effect sensing removes the bottom-out entirely if you set the actuation point shallow.
Rank 3, the GMMK Pro, is the board most people mod first. It is not quieter than the Q1 Pro out of the box, but the foam and gasket kits are widely documented, so the path from stock to quiet is short.
Ranks 4 to 6 are mats. A felt mat under a keyboard cuts the click of keycaps bottoming on a hard desk; it does very little for the low thump of a heavy case.
Leather over felt, as in the Orbitkey, adds a firm surface that stops pens and cables rattling.
Cork is the warmest and quietest of the three under a palm, and the cheapest.
Rank 7 is a sheet of Sorbothane cut to fit inside a case. It is the only entry here that targets chassis resonance directly, and it is the one most often installed wrong: over-compressed, it stops working.
Rank 8, the IsoAcoustics ISO-PUCK, is for speakers and monitors, not keyboards. It earns its place because desk vibration from a subwoofer or a monitor stand is a real source of low-frequency noise in a shared room.
Rank 9 is a deliberate inclusion. Headphones do not quiet the room; they change what you hear. If your complaint is your own typing, they are the wrong purchase.

Common questions
Why is a keyboard ranked above a mat?
Because the source is where the energy starts. Damping a desk removes what already escaped the case; a gasket mount and silent switches stop some of it being made.
Do I need all nine?
